UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Salem International University women's basketball team had a very strong second half, scoring 43 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the first-half defecit as the Tigers fell to Ursuline in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Saturday at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center on the campus of John Carroll University.
The loss drops Salem to 0-17 (0-5 G-MAC). Ursuline improves to 3-13 (2-4 G-MAC).
Samantha Aikens led Salem with 22 points that included five three's.
Shakinah Haggins scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting, and
Amanda Jackson added 14 points on 6-of-10 from the floor.
Salem will next take the floor when they welcome Ohio Valley into the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium next Saturday, January 17th for a 2:00 PM G-MAC showdown. Live Stats and Video will be available at the SIU Stretch Internet Portal
