PHILLIPI, W.Va. (Oct. 30) – Despite battling back for a second-set win, the Tigers were dealt a 3-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-17, 25-12) loss by Alderson Broaddus in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play Friday night.
The loss drops the Salem International University volleyball team to 5-17 overall and 0-4 in the G-MAC. Meanwhile, the Battlers improve to 5-1 in conference play, 10-15 overall.
Senior
Brittney Nesbitt (Kansas City, Mo./Raytown South) registered her first double-double of the season with a season-high 25 assists and a career-high 16 digs in the loss.
Offensively, sophomore
Rachel Hess (Stuttgart, Germany/Stuttgart) led the team with 14 kills, while freshman
Sophie Freihofer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) paced her effort with 11 kills. The team's defensive efforts were led by sophomore
Jen Foreman (Delaware, Ohio/Rutherford B. Hayes) who finished with a career-high 27 digs on the night.
The Tigers are back on the court tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 31 when they head to Elkins to take on Davis & Elkins at 1 p.m.
