SALEM, W.Va. (Sept. 10) -- The Salem International University women's soccer team was dealt a 12-0 loss by Ursuline in the team's season opening game Thursday afternoon at Catalano Stadium.
The Tigers fall to 0-1 overall and in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play this season. Meanwhile, Ursuline, the defending G-MAC champion and preseason favorite, improves to 2-1 overall, 1-0 in conference action.
The game was quiet until the 8th minute when the Arrows broke through with the game's first goal. Ursuline poured it on in the next 12 minutes, extending its lead to 6-0 by the 21st minute of the match. The Arrows took a 9-0 advantage into halftime and tacked on three more goals in the second half to send the Tigers to a season-opening loss.

Bre'Ana Felix (Heath, Ohio/Heath) made 19 saves in the game for the Tigers. The Arrow defense did not allow a shot on goal, while the offense attempted 46 total in the match.
Salem International returns to action next Thursday, Sept. 17 when they head to Owensboro, Kentucky to take on Kentucky Wesleyan in a G-MAC contest. The opening kick is set for 5 p.m.
