SALEM, WV - The Salem International University women's volleyball team dropped their match (14-25, 14-25, 21-25) to Davis & Elkins College on Tuesday night (Oct. 11) despite battling with the Senators in the third set. Junior outside hitter
Rachel Hess finished with a team-high eight kills and 13 digs.
The Tigers would be a handfull for the Senators in the third set after dropping each of the first two sets. SIU tallied nine kills as a team in the set and finished with 27 as a team in the match.
Sophomore outside hitter
Sophie Freihofer finished the night with seven kills, six digs, and three aces for the Tigers, while junior middle hitter
Alessandra Marquez recorded two blocks and dropped in one service ace.
SIU sophomore middle hitter
Tallora Soriano led the Tigers with 16 assists, while fellow sophomore
Cassidy Pluta tallied 10 digs and one service ace.
Elizabeth Estes led the Senators with 10 kills and Charisse Mitchell recorded nine kills with three blocks. Zoe Craig tallied 34 assists and eight digs for D&E.
