PHILIPPI, WV - The Salem International University women's volleyball squad dropped a four-set match (14-25, 14-25, 25-22, 9-25) to Alderson Broaddus University on Tuesday night (Oct. 18) despite getting a match-high 13 kills from junior outside hitter

The Tigers will continue their road-trip as they travel to Dunbar, W.Va. on Wednesday night (Oct. 19) to face West Virginia State at 7 p.m. SIU returns home to the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium to host Ohio Valley University on Tuesday, October 25 at 7 p.m.
After dropping each of the first two sets to Alderson Broaddus, the Tigers would rally in the third set to earn a 25-22 victory. SIU tallied 12 kills and limited the Battlers to just nine kills and a .068 hitting percentage.
Sophomore outside hitter
Sophie Freihofer finished the night with eight kills and a team-high 16 digs for the Tigers, while junior middle hitter
Alessandra Marquez recorded six kills and dropped in three service aces.
The Tigers looked to send the match to a decisive fifth-set but would come up short as the Battlers set the tempo in set number four en route to a 25-9 victory that secured the match.
Sophomore middle hitter
Tallora Soriano led the Tigers with 16 assists on the night while also digging up six balls. Sophomore
Cassidy Pluta tallied 14 digs and added five helpers for SIU.
