CEDARVILLE, Ohio (Feb. 11) – Despite points from 10 different players, the Tigers were dealt a 78-49 loss by Cedarville in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play Thursday evening.
The loss drops the Salem International University women's basketball team to 3-20 overall, 1-10 in the G-MAC. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets remain atop the league standings at 9-1, 18-6 overall this season.

TaShay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) led the Tigers with 11 points, while classmate
Samantha Aiken (Hilton Head Island, S.C./Hilton Head) chipped in 10 points, seven boards, four assists and a block.
The Tigers kept the game within striking distance in the first quarter, but Cedarville took command of the contest in the second period. Salem International trailed 20-13 entering the second quarter, before being out-scored 24-5 to give Cedarville a 44-18 advantage heading into halftime. The Tigers went basket-for-basket with the Yellow Jackets for most of the second half, but did not make any ground on the Cedarville lead.
Cedarville shot nearly 50 percent from the field (27 of 56) and connected on 21 of 26 attempts at the charity stripe. Meanwhile, the Tigers finished 20 of 63 (32 percent) from the field and were limited to just five of 10 attempts at the free throw line.
Salem International returns to Ohio on Saturday, Feb. 13 when they head to the northern part of the state to take on Ursuline at 2 p.m.
