Box Score SALEM, WV. (Sept. 30) – The Tigers were dealt a 3-0 loss (19-25,20-25,15-25) by West Virginia State in non-conference play Friday evening.
The Tigers came out swinging in the first set and held a good lead. Unfortunately, STATE rallied to take 10 of the next 14 points to win the opening set. The Yellow Jackets held the edge for the majority of the next two sets to claim the victory.
The loss drops the Salem International University volleyball team to 2-13 overall, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-11 this season.
Sophomore
Sophie Freihofer led the team with eleven kills on the night, while junior
Rachel Hess 8 Kills for the night.
The Tigers return to action Saturday, when they head to Dobbs Ferry, New York to Compete against Mercy College.
