SALEM, WV - The Salem International University men's basketball squad hits the road for the first of two consecutive road games on Wednesday night (Jan. 11) as the Tigers head to Murfreesboro, North Carolina to face the Chowan University Hawks at 7:30 p.m. It will be the first of two meetings this season between the two teams as the Hawks pay a visit to Salem on Wednesday, February 1 at 7 p.m.

SIU heads to Cedarville, Ohio on Thursday night (Jan. 19) before returning home to host Nyack on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 21) at 2 p.m. inside T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
Offensively this season, the Tigers have been lead by junior
Saquan Epps' 11.4 points per game. Epps also leads SIU with 5.8 rebounds per game this season. Freshman
Jarius Farrow has started in 11-of-14 games this season for the Tigers, averaging 10.7 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, and a team-high eight blocks. Senior point-guard
Victor Blakey is averaging 10.6 points per contest, while pacing the Tigers with 69 assists and 19 steals.
The Hawks, who have had each of their previous two contests postponed due to winter weather, have compiled an 8-3 record this season. Chowan is a perfect 7-0 on their home-court so far this season. The Hawks are led by Kevin Kuteyi's 16.3 points per game and team-high 29 steals. Kuteyi is shooting 47.7 percent from the floor and has connected for a team-high 33 trey's. Jeremy Smith leads the Hawks with his 8.7 rebounds per game, eight blocks, and 55.1 percent shooting percentage this season. Marco Haskins is also averaging double-figures per game this season at 13 points per game.
