BLUEFIELD, W.Va.- The Salem University men's soccer team scored two unanswered goals to defeat Bluefield College 2-1, Wednesday afternoon.
The win moves the Tigers to 8-6-2 on the season.
The Rams led the game with 13 shots, but Salem's shot on goal percentage was very impressive at 100 percent as they hit 10 shots and all 10 on goal.
Sophomore
Nikklas Roessler led the team with two goals on two shots.
Bluefield's Joe Stacey scored the match's first goal at 20:47 as he maneuvered the ball past freshman
Bernardo Santos for a 1-0 lead over the Tigers.
Santos finished the match with six saves and one goal allowed in 90 minutes.
Roessler's first goal came at 36:49 for his second goal of the year to tie the game 1-1.
Roessler didn't stop there as he scored the second and final goal for the Tigers at 58:46 getting the ball past the Rams keeper boosting the Tigers the lead to 2-1.
Sophomore
Chase Myrie contributed two shots as they were both on goal.
The Tigers travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on Shaw University with the match set for Monday at 1:00 p.m.
