RUTHERFORD, N.J.- The Salem University women's soccer team surged past Felician University 2-1, Friday evening.
The win boosts the Tigers to 10-3-1 on the season.
Salem led the Golden Falcons in shots (21-3), shots on goal (8-1) and corner kicks (4-1).
Junior
Tamara Queiroz led the team with six shots and three on goal.
Sophomore
Thuto Ramafifi added four shots with two on goal, while senior
Kelsea Freiling and freshman
Aliyah Armijo each had three shots with one on goal.
Salem's first scoring opportunity came at 7:53 as Ramafifi kicked a shot high.
The Golden Falcons got on top first as Danielle Jenkin scored off a cross from Jenna Fischetto to take a 1-0 lead over the Tigers.
Queiroz scored Salem's first goal at 68:20 on a short pass in the box from Ramafifi to tie the game 1-1. The goal marks Queiroz's 14
th on the year.
Freiling headed the ball off a corner kick by freshman
Jocelyn Orellana at 79:19 to take the lead 2-1.
The Tigers travel to Grayson, Ky. to take on Kentucky Christian on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
