GRASON Ky. – The Salem University women's soccer team cruised to a 10-0 shutout win over Kentucky Christian, Monday night.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 11-3-1.
Salem led in every major statistical category including shots (35-3), shots on goal (25-1) and assists (3-0).
The Tigers notched two goals in the first five minutes as freshman
Paula Guba netted a goal at 1:28 and sophomore
Thuto Ramafifi scored at 4:21 for a 2-0 Salem lead.
At 14:25 freshman
Jocelyn Orellana found junior
Tamara Queiroz for a goal, while at 16:26 Ramafifi scored her second goal of the match as Queiroz was credited for the assist.
Ramafifi has notched at least two goals in six of the last seven games.
The Tigers garnered two more goals before half as junior
Macy Myers scored at 28:26 off Orellana's second assist of the contest, while Queiroz notched her second goal of the game at 37:58 to give Salem a 6-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Myers recorded her second goal of the match at 50:23 to give the Tigers a commanding 7-0 lead.
Senior
Vanessa Moreno found the back of the net at 74:29, as
Tamara Queiroz scored Salem's last goal and her third goal for a hat trick at 87:49.
Sophomore
Valentina Bonaiuto kept a clean sheet and produced one save on the only shot on goal KCU recorded.
The Tigers are back in play Wednesday as they travel to Midway (Ky.) for a match with a 1:00 p.m. kick.
