MIDWAY, Ky. – The Salem University women's soccer team rolled past Midway (Ky.) 7-0, Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Tigers improve to an impressive 11-3-1.
Salem once again dominated the shot total as it led Midway 17-6 and led shots on goal 14-3.
The number one scoring offense in the nation did not miss a beat as the Tigers have now scored 38 goals in their last six matches averaging 6.33 goals per game in that span.
Sophomore
Thuto Ramafifi continued her goal-scoring tear as she notched the first of her four goals with 26 minutes left in the first half on an assist by freshman
Paula Guba.
Ramafifi netted her second goal about 30 seconds later off an assist by senior
Kelsea Freiling to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead over Midway.
With four minutes before intermission, Ramafifi garnered a hat-trick off an assist by junior
Sabina Morello to take a 3-0 lead into the half.
But, Ramafif was not finished, she garnered her fourth goal of the contest in the 47
th minute as senior
Jasmine Seaton found Ramafifi from eight yards out to take a 4-0 lead. This is the third time Ramafifi has produced four goals in a match this season.
This marks Ramafifi's seventh multi-goal game in seven out of the last eight matches. Ramafifi currently ranks fifth in the country in goals per game at 1.21.
Junior
Tamara Queiroz connected on a goal with 35 minutes remaining in the match on an assist from freshman
Aliyah Armijo to push the Tigers lead to 5-0.
The Tigers scored their sixth goal of the game with just under 26 minutes to play as junior
Macy Myers kicked the ball in the bottom left corner past the Midway keeper Alexandria Klimek.
With 23 minutes left in the match, the seventh and final goal of the match was scored by Morello as she received a pass from Ramafifi and chipped the ball over the keeper for a 7-0 Tiger lead.
The Tigers are back in action as they face Oakland City in Cincinnati, Ohio at Oak Hills High School on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
