RIO GRANDE, Ohio- The Salem University volleyball team was edged by Rio Grande 3-1 (25-17, 18-25, 18-25, 16-25), Monday night.
The loss takes the Tigers to 7-28 on the season.
The Red Storm controlled the match in kills (39-31), aces (9-4) and digs (85-64), whereas the Tigers led the match in blocks (9-4).
Rio was led by Ashley Taylor with 13 kills and one block, along with teammate Katie Hemsley who contributed with 26 digs.
The Tigers started the night off strong with a first set win (25-17).
Junior
Liane Moser led the Tigers with seven kills and two aces, while senior
Kathryne Mathis added six kills and thirteen digs for the team.
The Tigers head back home to host Ohio Dominican for senior night tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
