SALEM, W.Va.- The Salem University men's and women's swim teams swept Fairmont State for a meet win, Friday night.

The women beat Fairmont 131-108, while the men dominated 142-97.

For the women, freshman
Lauren Platz led the team with three individual wins in the 50-yard backstroke (30.08), 100-yard backstroke (1:04.88), and 500-yard freestyle (5:44.26).

Senior
Marta Gruszczynska also swam her way to two wins with a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.27) and the 50-yard butterfly (29.02).

Philippa Piper took first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.73.

Chloe Smart all teamed up to get a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.01.

On the men's side, freshman
Austin Kephart had two first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with times of 1:55.17 and 4:59.56.

Brady Samuels also notched two first-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle with times of 53.83 and 49.22.

Robert Juhas and freshman
Gregory Smith both picked up one race win each. Juhas won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.85, while Smith finished first in the 100-yard IM with a 56.98 time.

Milos Popovic worked together to get a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a total time of 1:41.48.

Kephart, Samuels, Smith and Juhas also won the 200-yard freestyle relay clocking in at 1:30.91.
