ELKINS, W.Va.- The Salem University women's basketball team fell short to Davis & Elkins 83-63, Wednesday night.

The loss drops the Tigers to 0-3 on the season.

The Tigers shot 28.6 percent from the floor, while they shot 46.3 percent from the free throw line.

Alicia Smith led the team with 19 points, grabbing three rebounds. Smith scored 15 of her 19 points from outside the arc.Â

Endia Jones was the only other Tiger to hit double digits with 10 points, while also collecting seven rebounds.

Salem trailed in the first three quarters, however it outscored the Senators in the fourth quarter 23-21.

Both the Tigers and Senators post 15-second chance points in the game, as well as 21 turnovers.

Salem capitalized by scoring 16 points off of the Senators' 21 turnovers, whereas D&E scored just one less point off of Salem's 21.

D&E dominated with 48 points in the paint while the Tigers managed just 12.Â
