CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Salem University women's basketball team fell to the University of Charleston 83-72, Saturday afternoon. 
 

The loss drops the Tiger to 0-6, while Charleston improves to 5-1. 
 

Salem forced Charleston to 14 turnovers, but Charleston forced the Tigers to 21 turnovers as Charleston scored 21 points off the Tiger turnovers. 
 

Each team grabbed 42 rebounds, as the Tigers notched 18 offensive boards generating 16 second-chance points to Charleston's seven.
 

The Tigers were led by junior Precious Price, as she scored a team-high 18 points, dished out five assists and garnered three steals. 
 

The only other Tiger to score double-figures was junior Aaliyah Holmes as she netted 14 points and grabbed two rebounds. 
 

Salem started off the game hot, as it went on a 10-0 run as Price hit a layup with 5:31 left in the first quarter leading Charleston 10-0. Charleston stormed back, as it went on an 18-7 run to take an 18-17 lead at the end of the first quarter. 
 

Salem was outscored by Charleston 22-18 in the second quarter as Salem trailed at intermission 40- 35. 
 

Charleston expanded its lead in the third quarter to 64-46 as it held Salem to just 11 points in the quarter. 
 

The Tigers outscored Charleston 26-19 in the fourth quarter, but Charleston was able to hang on for an 83-72 win. Charleston held its largest lead at 4:07 in the fourth quarter 76-55. 
 

Charleston was led by Raziyah Farrington as she netted a game-high 24 points and grabbed five rebounds. 
 

Salem is back in action Monday, as it travels to Seton Hill (Pa.) for a tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
