WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The Salem University volleyball team dropped two matches on the second day of Ram Fest against West Chester 3-0 and Goldey-Beacom 3-0, Saturday.
GAME ONE
The Tigers fell to the Rams in three sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-13).
Salem led West Chester in blocks six to four, while the Rams took over all other major statistics including kills (40-11), digs (42-34) and assists (40-11).
GAME TWO
In game two, Salem fell to Goldey-Beacom in three sets (25-15, 28-26, 25-15).
Freshman
Amy Turbak had a game-high of 12 digs for the Tigers, while Isaac led with six blocks. Mathis, along with freshmen
Yesenia Munoz and freshman
Kira Lilly each had four kills.
The Tigers again led the game with blocks against the Lightning 7-3, however, Goldey-Beacom notched a higher total over Salem in kills (34-22), digs (39-36) and aces (14-6).
Set two was put into extra points after Salem kept the score close the whole game, but the Lightning managed to outlast the Tigers 28-26.
The Tigers are back in action Tuesday as they will host a tri-match and take on Glenville State at 3:00 p.m. and Rio Grande at 7:00 p.m.
