MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –The Salem University men's soccer team was downed by Ohio Valley University 3-0, Tuesday at the West Virginia University recreation center field.
With the loss, Salem drops to 3-5, while OVU remains undefeated at 7-0.
In the match, Salem struggled to generate shots as the Tigers were outshot 17-2 by the Fighting Scotts and also 10-2 with shots on goal.
OVU was awarded seven corner kicks, while Salem had one.
The Tigers finished the match with seven saves as OVU only had two.

Bernardo Santos recorded seven saves on three goals allowed in 90 minutes played.

Andrea Morelli notched the only two shots on goal for Salem.
The first goal of the match came at 35:33 as OVU's Jorge Pradillos hit a shot to the upper left corner for a 1-0 lead over the Tigers.
Six minutes later, OVU's Nicolas Rodriguez found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead over Salem heading into intermission.
In the 43rd minute, Santos notched an impressive diving save to keep the score at 2-0.
At 59:34 OVU was awarded a penalty kick as Isovan Padonou managed to get the ball past Santos for a 3-0 lead and win over the Tigers.
Salem is back in action Saturday as it hosts Lake Erie at 3:00 p.m. at Catalano Stadium.
