MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –The Salem University women's soccer team was held scoreless in a 5-0 loss to Ohio Valley University, Tuesday.
With the loss, the Tigers fall to 3-2, while the Fighting Scotts improve to 4-1-2.
Salem was outshot 20-4 for the match, while it was outshot 13-2 in the first half.
Ohio Valley had the nod in corner kicks as they earned five, while Salem did not record any.
The Tigers notched 10 saves, whereas OVU had one.
Sophomore
Valentina Bonaiuto finished the match with 10 saves and five goals allowed in 90 minutes.
Junior
Tamara Queiroz is the only Tiger to have a shot on goal on the day.
Five different players netted a goal for OVU including, Paula Valbueana (2:02), Fernanda Araya (11:03), Hannah Roach (22:54), Montserratt Grau (58:15) and Mileidys Saenz (70:32).
Valbueana scored the first goal of the match just two minutes into the contest on a shot from about 30 yards out that was placed in the upper right corner.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday as they host Lake Erie at 1:00 p.m
