Three Late Goals Lift Women's Soccer Over Lake Erie

CLARKSBURG, W.Va.- The Salem University women's soccer team defeated Lake Erie 3-1, Saturday afternoon
 
The Tigers' win improves the team to 4-2.
 
 
The Tigers led the Storm in shots (23-6), shots on goal (13-3) and corner kicks (4-0). 
 
It wasn't until the second half that a goal was scored as the Storm's Holland Erb scored the first goal at 69:36. A free kick taken from Michaela Hoagland was flicked by Brett Pauff to Erb as she lobbed it over sophomore keeper Valentina Bonaiuto. 
 
Salem's first goal was scored by a penalty kick taken by junior Tamara Queiroz after a Lake Erie committed a foul at 77:24. 
 
Freshman Aliyah Armijo added a goal to take the lead at 79:40 as she received a through ball from Queiroz for a clean finish in the bottom left side of the net. 
 
The Tigers took another penalty kick at 80:19 by Queiroz for her second and the Tiger's third goal of the game. 
 
 
The women's soccer team will head to Fairmont State on Wednesday for a match at 7:00 p.m. against the Falcons.
