CLARKSBURG, W.Va.- The Salem University women's soccer team earned its first win in its home opener against Lincoln University (Pa.) 9-1, Saturday afternoon at Robert C. Byrd High School.

The Tigers outshot the Lions 43-1 with 24 of the shots on goal, while Salem earned seven corner kicks as Lincoln only earned one.Â

Salem's first goal came from sophomore
Thuto Ramafifi at 4:14 in the first half as she maneuvered the ball past the goalkeeper to find the back of the net. Ramafifi finished the contest with two goals.

Junior
Tamara Queiroz added three goals in the game, as her first goal came at 15:22 from 25 yards out.Â

Freshman
Paula Guba also generated two goals, while sophomore Barbara Stenner and freshman
Anna-Lisa Tietz each notched one goal.Â

Tietz's goal came at 63:03 as she placed the ball just out of the keepers reach from 25 yards out.Â

Queiroz led the team in all statistical categories with seven shots, five shots on goal, three goals and one assist.

Lincoln's only shot of the match came from Diana Martinez as she netted a goal from 40 yards out.

The Tigers host West Liberty on Wednesday at Catalano Stadium set for a 3:00 p.m. kick.Â
