ELKINS, W.Va.- The Salem University men and women's swimming came up short against Davis & Elkins Saturday 157-86 and 161-81, respectively, Saturday afternoon.

For the men, freshman
Brady Samuels led the team placing first place in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:01.71 and the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.36. He also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:01.93.

Gregory Smith placed second place in the 100-yard butterfly (56.16) and the 50-yard freestyle (23.65). Classmate
Austin Kephart finished second place in the 100-yard backstroke (56.98) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.47) and clocking in at 53.69 for a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle.

Mateo Kozomara finished second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a total time of 3:29.77.

As for the women, freshman
Lauren Platz topped the charts for the Tigers with two first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.26 and the 200-backstroke clocking in at 2:20.58. She also placed third in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:08.58.

Katherine Turner placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:17.84 and second in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:50.40 following senior teammate,
Marta Gruszczynska, who notched first with a time of 2:48.68.
