Salem University fell to Lincoln Memorial University 6-0 in NCAA Division II women's soccer Wednesday at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va. The match had to be moved to Morgantown due to field conditions at Catalano Stadium due to heavy rain Tuesday.

The Tigers kept the match scoreless in the early going when defender Sophia Wortmann stopped a shot just in front of the goal in 10th minute and goalkeeper Chelsea Cordice recorded a save 36 seconds later. Lincoln Memorial got on the scoreboard starting in the 12th minute with a pair of goals three minutes apart on rebounds off of shots that deflected off the crossbar. The Railsplitters added another goal two minutes later, but Salem kept LMU scoreless the remainder of the half to stay within 3-0 at halftime.

Salem kept Lincoln Memorial out of the goal for nearly 30 minutes to start the second half. Arianna Villalobos prevented a potential one-on-one by intercepting a service into the box, while Chrislyn Browne and Isabelle Lones both cleared balls out of the box to prevent challenges. The Railsplitters found the goal in the 73rd minute and added two more goals 48 seconds apart starting in the 86th minute.

Cordice, who ranks third in the nation in total saves, recorded 11 saves Wednesday to up her season total to 141.

Salem plays host to Shaw University Saturday at noon in the Tigers' 2019 home finale. An announcement will be made later this week whether the match will be played at Catalano Stadium or at Mylan Park.
