Salem withstood a 21-shot barrage to stay even until the 41:34 mark when a header off of a free kick broke the deadlock. The Tigers nearly evened the match just 21 seconds later when
Tamara Queiroz put a shot on frame, but Pittsburgh-Johnstown goalkeeper Maria Mosquera made the save to keep the Mountain Cats on top 1-0 at halftime.
The Tigers remained within a goal until the 59th minute when Pittsburgh-Johnstown scored three goals in a span of five minutes. The Mountain Cats added two goals in a span of two minutes starting in the 80th minute.
Cordice ranks first in Division II with 121 saves.
Salem has a 10-day break before returning to the Keystone State October 19 to take on Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Tigers' next home match is October 23 against Lincoln Memorial University.
