NUTTER FORT, W.Va. –The Salem University baseball team notched a 10-6 win over Lincoln (Pa.) for a 3-0 series sweep, on a beautiful and windy Friday afternoon at Frank Loria Memorial Field.
This marks the Tigers fourth-straight win as they sit at 4-5, while Lincoln drops to 0-5.
"I am really proud of our guys for bouncing back after the first two weekends. They played really good baseball during the course of this series. Good pitching, good hitting, and good defense is usually a recipe for success and that translated during our three-game series, " stated coach

As a team, Salem recorded 10 hits and 10 runs on nine RBI in 31 at-bats, while Lincoln recorded 10 hits with six runs and six RBI in 35 at-bats.
Senior
Thirus Jones and sophomore
Austin Whetzel each posted two hits and two runs scored, while Jones also generated two RBI.
Junior
Dalton Robison recorded his third home run of the season to go along with three RBI.
Salem rolled in the first inning as junior
Tyler Ault notched a triple as he knocked home senior
Harrison Hollis for a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The next at-bat, senior
Jimmy Cramer hit a sacrifice fly to center as Ault cross the plate for a 2-0 lead. Two batters later, Jones singled to center field as Whetzel turned on the jets as he scored from second base for a 3-0 lead.
Robison was next up at bat and went yard, as he hit a two-run shot to give Salem a 5-0 lead at the end of the first inning.
Lincoln added two runs in the second and three runs in the third as it tied the game 5-5 in the top of the third inning.
But the Tigers answered quickly with a Jones' triple to scored Cramer for a 6-5 lead and a Robison sacrifice fly to scored Jones for a 7-5 advantage in the bottom of the third.
The Tigers added three more runs to take a 10-6 lead and win to sweep Lincoln and keep the winning streak alive.
Salem is back in action next weekend as they head to Miles College for a three-game series slated with a doubleheader Friday at noon.
