SALEM, W.Va. – The Salem University women's basketball showed out in front of its home crowd for the final home game of the season to take the win 85-77 over Mansfield, Wednesday.
The win boosts the Tigers to 8-18, while it drops the Mountaineers to 2-21 on the season.
Salem shot a better three-point percentage of 34.3 percent (12-35) than Mansfield 24.1 percent (7-29), while both teams shot 60.0 percent from the free throw line.
Mansfield had 15 second-chance points, while the Tigers scored 20. The Tigers netted 16 points off of the Mountaineers' 15 turnovers, while Mansfield scored 15 points off of the Tigers' 16.
Salem held the largest lead of the game 50 seconds into the third quarter after a three-pointer from freshman
Aitana Nuevo Garcia 48-31.
The Tigers had five players hit double digits tonight with freshman
Nerea Arambarri Fernandez leading the team with 19 points, while junior
Endia Jones netted 17 points.

Reeva Jackson each added to the team with 12 points. Jackson notched her first double-double of the season grabbing 10 rebounds along with her 12 points.
The Mountaineers were led by Erin Gibbons and Mia Leonard with 21 points and 18 points, respectively. Noelle Cameron marked the book with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Tigers travel to Slippery Rock for the last game of their season Wednesday, February 27 for a 5:00 p.m. tip.
