NUTTER FORT, W.Va. - Behind two grand slams and two solo shots, the Salem University baseball team tatted Alderson Broaddus 14-6, Wednesday evening.
With the win, Salem improves to 11-9, while Alderson Broaddus falls to 1-9-1.

Carson Ellis is credited with the win as he allowed zero earned runs and just one hit with one strikeout in two innings pitched. Senior
Michael Rupp allowed zero earned runs and just three hits with one strikeout in 4.0 innings pitched.

Walker Dodero tallied three hits and was just a triple shy of the cycle as he notched a home run (grand slam), double and a single, while sophomore
Tyler D'Alessandro hit two home runs including a grand slam and a solo shot.
Alderson Broaddus tallied the first run as the bases were loaded and a walk allowed a run for a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Salem answered in the bottom of the first as Ault hit his sixth home run of the season over the left field wall to tie the game 1-1.
In the second inning, Salem cycled through a few pitchers and ABU added four runs as it led Salem 5-1 in the top of the second inning.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, D'Alessandro came to the plate with the bases loaded and cleared them with a grand slam to right field to tie the game 5-5.
D'Alessandro came up big again in the bottom of the sixth as he hit a lead-off solo homer to right field and gave notched a 6-5 Tiger lead, while later that inning Ault hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring sophomore
Remmington Boyce for a 7-5 advantage over ABU.
As the bases were loaded in the bottom of the sixth, sophomore
Austin Whetzel earned a base on balls to score junior
Noah Suarez for an 8-5 lead. In the next at-bat, Dodero launched a home run to right field for a grand slam and a 12-5 Salem lead.
Later that inning, senior
Harrison Hollis singled to center scoring Boyce and junior
Dalton Robison for a commanding 14-5 lead.
The Tigers are back in action Friday as they host Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. at the Frank.
