Six-Run Seventh Inning Secures Win Over Concord

NUTTER FORT, W.Va. -With a six-run seventh inning, the Salem University baseball team dominated Concord 10-3, Tuesday afternoon. 
 
With the win, the Tigers jump to 14-11 on the season, while Concord drops to 8-4. 
 
Junior pitcher James Wiseman (3-5) earned the win on the mound as he tossed four strikeouts and allowed just five hits and three runs in seven and two-thirds innings. 
 
At the plate, junior Walker Dodero was 2-3 with two RBI, while senior Jimmy Cramer was 2-3 with one hit and two runs scored. 
 
Concord added the first run of the game as Webb advanced home from second base on a passed ball for a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. 
 
In the bottom of the third, Salem tied the game 1-1 after a throwing error from Concord as senior Harrison Hollis crossed home.
 
In the top of the fourth, junior Dalton Robison made an impressive diving stop at third base and gunned down the runner at first for the first out of the inning. 
 
Junior Tyler Ault notched his eighth home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth inning as he knocked out a leadoff solo homer to left field for a 2-1 lead. 
 
Later in the inning, Dodero doubled off the right field wall to score Cramer for a 3-1 advantage. 
 
Senior Isaiah Arroyo hit a drooper down the right field line to score Dodero for a 4-1 lead. 
 
In the bottom of the seventh, sophomore Austin Whetzel singled through the right side to score Hollis, while in the next at-bat, Dodero reached first base on a sacrifice bunt attempt as Cramer scored to take a 6-1 lead. 
 
In the next at-bat, Robison hit his eighth home run of the year as he blasted a three-run shot to left field and a 9-1 advantage. 
 
Two batters later, sophomore Remmington Boyce grounded out to the third baseman but earned an RBI as he scored junior Noah Suarez for a 10-1 lead.
 
The Tigers are back at the Frank tomorrow against Ohio Valley for their twenty-straight home game with first pitch slated at 3:00 p.m.
