NUTTER FORT, W.Va. -The Salem University baseball team rolled past Ohio Valley 13-4 for its third-straight win and its twentieth-straight home contest, Wednesday evening.
With the win, Salem improves to 15-11, while Ohio Valley falls to 2-14.
Junior
Sam Chapman stays undefeated and earned his fifth win on the mound (5-0) as he tossed eight strikeouts and allowed just four hits and one earned run in six innings pitched.
Sophomore
Austin Whetzel was 2-3 at the plate with two RBI and two doubles, while senior
Harrison Hollis was 2-4 with one RBI.
The Tigers scored the first run of the game as Whetzel doubled to right center to score Hollis from first base and a 1-0 lead.
In the next at-bat, junior
Walker Dodero singled through the right side and scored Whetzel as he turned on the jets from second base to take a 2-0 lead over Ohio Valley.
In the bottom of the third, junior
Dalton Robison hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score senior
Jimmy Cramer for a 3-0 lead.
OVU added one run in the top of the fourth off a double down the left field line to cut the lead to 3-1.
In the bottom of the fourth, Salem exploded and added nine runs off of five hits and two errors for a 12-1 advantage.

Remmington Boyce hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home junior
Noah Suarez for a 13-3 advantage.
The Tigers are back in action Friday as they host Grove City at Frank Loria with first pitch set at 7:00 p.m.
