BUCKHANNON, W.Va.- The Salem University baseball team dominated West Virginia Wesleyan 13-5, Tuesday night.
With the win, Salem improves to 17-13, while WVWC falls to 10-15.
Junior
Dalton Robison was 3-for-5 from the plate with four RBI and his team-leading 10th home run of the season. Robison's 10 home runs tie the program record for most home runs in a season.
Sophomore
Kyle Sears earned the win on the mound as he pitched seven innings with six hits and three earned runs allowed, while he sat down four batters.
Salem took the early lead as in the top of the first inning Robison singled up the middle to score senior
Harrison Hollis for a 1-0 lead. In the next at-bat, junior
Walker Dodero hit a ground out RBI to the first baseman as junior
Tyler Ault crossed home to go up 2-0.
In the top of the second, the Tigers added one run as WVWC committed an error to score senior
Isaiah Arroyo for a 3-0 lead.
Senior
Jimmy Cramer hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the top of the fifth inning as Hollis came home for a 4-0 advantage over the Bobcats.
In the top of the sixth, Dodero scored a run off a passed ball, while sophomore
Austin Whetzel notched a run off a fielder's choice from junior
Noah Suarez to expand the lead to 6-0.
Robison blasted his 10th homer of the year in the top of the seventh inning, as he hit a two-run shot to extend the lead to 8-0.
The Tigers added three more runs in the inning for a comfortable 11-0 advantage. The Bobcats added three runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut into the Tiger lead, as Salem led 11-3.
Salem added its final run of the night in the top of the ninth as Robison doubled to bring home Cramer for a 13-4 lead.
The Tigers are set to host Glenville State tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. for a doubleheader at "The Frank."
