Salem University is back on its home court and puts its longest winning streak in 14 years on the line Thursday afternoon as the Tigers play host to Chowan University in NCAA Division II men's basketball. Special tip-off time is 1 p.m. at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.

Salem (13-7) extended its winning streak to six with a 105-64 victory Monday at Cheyney University.
Jordan Forbes scored 23 points for the Tigers, which played their bench for the majority of the second half.
Stan Smith added 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while
Joseph Powell pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds.

The Tigers are 9-1 in their last 10 games overall and have won their last five home games after dropping their home opener in November. Thursday's contest will be Salem's first at home since January 13.

The last time Salem recorded at least six consecutive wins was during the 2005-06 season when the Tigers put to together three separate six-game winning streaks on their way to a 21-9 mark. Salem's longest winning streak took place in 2001-02 when the Tigers went 13-0 to start the season and finished with a 26-5 record.

Thursday's game comes exactly one year to the day after Salem posted a 96-90 victory at Chowan.
Malique Ross led the Tigers with 19 points and seven rebounds, while
Fonz Hale added 14 points.

Chowan (8-11) is coming off a 75-72 loss at Erskine College (S.C.). Thursday's game is a bit of a homecoming for Chowan head coach Brett Vincent and assistant coach David Rogers. Vincent is originally from Shinston and Rogers is from Petersburg. Both Vincent and Rogers served on the basketball staff at Fairmont State University.

Only two weeks remain in Salem's 2019-20 regular season. The Tigers have three road games next week before finishing with home contests against Alderson Broaddus University (February 19) and Bluefield State College (February 22).
