Salem. WV- Salem University Baseball started their season on Saturday hosting Kentucky State in a double header. The Tigers fell in both games to the Thorobreds 3-5 and 4-7. The Tigers collected 10 hits on the day including a homerun from Zachery Teem.
Game One:

• The Tigers got on the board early after a single from Kasey Buchanan brought in a run in the first. Zachery Teem added to the lead with a homer over the left field fence. 
• The Tigers maintained the lead until a double from Josh Graves brought in three runs to put the Thorobreds ahead. The Tiger rally fell short scoring one in the seventh.
• Dominic Curole started on the mound for the Tigers striking out nine and only allowing one hit and zero runs.

Game Two:

• Both teams got the bats going early with the Thorobreds scoring two in the first and the Tigers scoring three. Kentucky State scored two in the second to go ahead for the remainder of the game.
• Buchanan finished the second game with three hits in four plate appearances. One of those being the only triple on the day.

The Tigers will have a chance to end the weekend on a high note with a rematch with the Thorobreds tomorrow at 1 p.m.
