West Union, WV- Salem University softball took both games in a double header contest Saturday against Ohio Valley University 2-1 and 1-0. The Tigers had four hits, two coming from Emily Gonzalez.

Game one:

The Tigers struck first after a leadoff walk from Adriana Sanchez came around to score on a passed ball in the first. The Tiger defense held strong only giving up one run in the forth to tie it up 1-1. In the bottom of the inning, a leadoff walk by Ricki Garay came around to score after a miscue from the OVU defense to go ahead 2-1 for the remainder of the game.

Game two:

Sanchez showed up big for the Tigers in the leadoff spot with a double back up the middle in the first. After a sacrifice bunt from Breanna Jimenez brought Sanchez to third, Gonzalez brought in the only run of the game to go ahead 1-0.  

The Tigers will host Kentucky State University Tuesday, March 23th.
