Glenville, WV- Salem University softball competed in their first road game of the 2021 season Sunday. The Tigers fell to Glenville State 7-6 and 8-0. The Tigers collected 14 hits on the day, one of those being a home run from
Ashlee Hedrick in the first game of the double header.
Game One:
- The Tigers rallied for two in the fifth off of two singles by Kimberly Reckling and Syriah Trujillo to pull ahead 6-4.
- The Tigers weren't able to hold off the Pioneers after a sacrifice fly scored the winning run.
- The Tigers collected a season high of 12 hits during game one.
Game Two:
- The Tigers weren't able to get the bats going in game two only having two hits from Adriana Sanchez and Hedrick.
- The Tigers defense held strong, but timely hits from the Pioneers put them on their way to the 8-0 victory.
The Tigers will be back in action Monday at one and three at West Liberty University.
