Salem University Baseball fell to Savannah State University in two games on Sunday 8-3 and 3-2. In the battle of the Tigers, Salem collected 12 hits and five RBIs during the two games with Austin Earl collecting one hit and three RBIs on the day.

Game One:

Salem struck first after a single from Earls to left field brought in the first run of the day. Savannah State answered back scoring two in the first, three in the second and one in the third to go ahead 6-2. Earl collected his third RBI in the fifth to add Salems final run of the game.  

Game Two:

Both Tiger defenses held strong and did not allow a run until the third. After two Tigers got on base due to a hit by pitch and a walk, Josh Medina singled up the middle to drive in the first run followed by a sacrifice fly by Kasey Buchanan to drive in the second run of the inning. After a single in the fourth, Savannah State tied it up 2-2. The final run came after a single to left field drove in the winning run by Savannah State in eighth inning.

Salem will compete in the final game of the series against Savannah State tomorrow starting at 12 p.m.
