Salem University baseball split the double header at Virginia State on Saturday. The Tigers took game one 6-3 but fell in game two 6-0. Alan Larocque and Justin Murray both collected two RBIs on the day.
Game One:
Both teams remained scoreless until the third when the Tigers brought one across the plate off of a sacrifice fly from Austin Whetzel. The Tigers had a big fourth inning that brought in five runs to go ahead 6-0. Larocque drove in two with a triple to right center field. Virginia State tried to rally in the fourth but were only able to put three on the board.
Game Two:
Virginia State took revenge early in game two putting one on the board in the first and never looking back. The Tigers only had two hits that came from Trey Hissam and Quinten Collins. Virginia State went on to score five more to come away with the 6-0 victory.
The Tigers will have the chance to win the series in game three tomorrow at 12 p.m.
