Salem University baseball fell to Shepherd University in the final game of the series 6-5. Before the first pitch, Austin Earl, Dominic Curole, Dalton Robison, Ben Mack, Noah Suarez, Kasey Buchanan, Jason Gomez, Bailey Bethke, Billy Lintner, Jerrod Johnmeyer, Andrew Friend, and Austin Whetzel were all recognized for their accomplishments on and off the field for senior day.
The Tigers got on the board early after a sacrifice fly from Earl brought in the first run. The Tigers kept this momentum going into the second when Friend singled to right center. After an error by the Rams, two came around to score. The rams got on the board in the third to pull within one of the Tigers and then tied it up in the fourth. Earl put the Tigers back on top with a center field two run homerun. The Rams were able to answer back to make the score 5-4. The final led change of the game came from the Rams in the seventh inning to come away with the 6-5 victory.
The Tigers will play their final home game of the season April 27th starting at 2 p.m. against Alderson Broaddus University.
