Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Kaden Shoaf

Salem Comes up Short Against Davis & Elkins

BRIDGEPORT, West Virginia - In the second of three Salem athletic contests held at The Bridge Sports Complex, the Tiger's men's soccer program took on the Davis & Elkins Senators for a mid-afternoon contest. The Tiger's played well, but the Senators offensive output was simply too hot to handle and Salem fell 4-0.

In the early stages of the contest, the game was tightly contested as each team tried to find their scoring opportunities. The Senators would score two early goals roughly 20 minutes into the contest. From there, the Tigers pushed their offensive tactics as they tried to get back into the game. Despite the new offensive pressure, the Senators held the 2-0 lead into the half.

After the intermission, the Tigers got right back at it as they tried to shoot their way back into the game. However, this offensive pressure created many counter-attacking chances for Davis & Elkins, and they would add 2 more goals. They held that 4-0 throughout the rest of the half, and pulled away with a decisive victory.

Statistically, it was not all bad for the Tigers. Samuel Reyna-Farje had a decent day in goal, and the Tiger's offensive attack was driven by Aidan Mahoney and Luka Majstorovic.

For their next contest, the Tiger men's soccer program will play host to Washington Adventist on September 6th at 3 pm.
