MEDIA, Pennsylvania - With a dominant win in their last outing against Washington Adventist, the Salem Tigers men's soccer team took the opportunity to head up to Pennsylvania this weekend for a invitational tournament hosted by Penn State-Brandywine. The Tigers took on the Bobcats of Bryant and Stratton College-Albany. The Salem offense came alive, and they crushed the Bobcats by a score of 5-0.
The Tigers got off to a great start midway through the first half when Luka Majstorovic opened up the scoring off of an assist by Mauricio Aguilar Renovales. Daniel Teruel Nuno would also add a goal for the Tigers, and they would go into the halftime break at 2-0.Â
In the second half, the Tigers got right back into it. Jonathan Van Diermen would add a solo goal right off the back, and would then assist Oluwaseun Babarinde on a subsequent score shortly thereafter. The final Tigers goal came from Diego Losada just moments later, and Salem would roll to a commanding 5-0 victory.Â
In goal, it was an impressive game from Ryan Schneider and Ruben Pijlman who combined for 3 saves and the shutout.Â
The Tigers will continue their play this weekend as they will take on the host Penn State-Brandywine tomorrow at 2 pm in the invitational championship game.
