Salem Stumbles on the Road at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Maryland- On Wednesday afternoon, the Salem Tigers women's soccer team headed northeast to the state of Maryland. The Tigers had a Wednesday evening match up against the Frostburg State Bobcats. Salem was looking to pull off the huge road win, but unfortunately Frostburg State was able to secure the win by a score of 7-0.

In the first half, Frostburg State wasted no time getting the offense rolling and were able to score twice in the first 5 minutes of play. After a quick start for Frostburg, the Salem Tigers desperately needed to get on the board before the end of the half. Unfortunately, the Bobcats were able to close out the half scoring 2 more goals. The Bobcats held a 4-0 lead over the Tigers at the half.

In the second, like the start of the first the Bobcats struck quickly with another goal at the 47-minute mark extending their lead to 5-0. At this point, Frostburg had complete control of the game were looking to control the ball the rest of the way. Frostburg would close out the game scoring 2 more goals at the 70-minute mark and 82-minute mark. The Bobcats were able to prevail by a final score of 7-0.

Despite the loss, the Tigers will have another opportunity as they head to West Liberty, WV on Sunday for a match up vs the West Liberty Hilltoppers.
