FROSTBURG, West Virginia – After a long-awaited off-season, the Salem Tigers men's basketball team headed to Maryland to start the regular season in the Regional Tipoff at Frostburg State. The Tigers opponent was Seton Hill University out of the PSAC. The Tigers were looking to start their season on a high note and get the win. Unfortunately, the Seton Hill Griffins were able to pull away and take the win 71-54.
In the first half, the Seton Hill Griffins were able to get off to a quick start with a 14-3 run to start the game. The Tigers were able to get the offense rolling midway through the first half and Seton Hill held a 22-18 lead with 7 minutes remaining in the first half. Seton Hill was able to play aggressive defense and go on a 12-4 run to close out the half. At the half, Seton Hill held the lead 34-22.
In the second half, the Tigers needed to get some offense going to avoid Seton Hill from pulling away. However, Seton Hill went on a 20-12 run in the first 8 minutes of play in the second half. With 10 minutes left in the game, Seton Hill held a commanding 57-37 lead. Seton Hill held control for the final 10 minutes of play and were able to secure a 71-54 win over Salem.

Kevin Constant scored 14 points in the game on 4-5 from the field.
Despite the loss, the Tigers will have a quick chance to redeem themselves tomorrow against Shippensburg University at 12 PM in Frostburg, Maryland.
