GLENVILLE, West Virginia – After over a week off games for the Salem Tigers men's basketball team, they were back in action. Salem traveled down I-79 for a 12 PM match up against the Glenville State Pioneers. The Tigers were looking for a fresh start after the break and to get back into the win column. However, Glenville State would end up taking securing a big victory by a score of 97-67.
In the first half, the Tigers got off to a solid start and were able to hold a 12-10 lead with 15 minutes remaining. The Tigers were able to extend their lead 9-5 run after a couple three pointer by
Tyree Davis and
Daquan Coleman. With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Salem held a 21-16 lead. The Tigers were able to maintain a lead with 5 minutes remaining after some key three pointers by
Jack Garrison IV and
Jalen Barnes. Glenville State was able to close out the second half on an impressive run and secured a 49-38 lead at intermission.
In the second half, the Tigers desperately needed to get off to a quick run if they wanted a chance to get the win. However, Glenville State had another huge run to start the second half and were able to move their lead to 68-40 with 14 minutes remaining in play. At this point in the game, the Pioneers held a commanding lead and were able to sustain it. The Tigers tried to make a late game push, but it wasn't enough as the Glenville State Pioneers would secure the 97-67 win over the Salem Tigers.

Daquan Coleman led the Tigers in scoring with 20 points.
Tyree Davis added 17 points as well.
After a tough loss, Salem will fall to 1-6 on the season. However, the Tigers will look to get back in the win column when they return home to prepare for a Saturday contest against Concord University at 4 PM.
