LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pennsylvania – The Salem Tigers headed to Pennsylvania to take on Lincoln University Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers looked to bounce back in game 2 of the season. However, the Lions were able to prevail in a final score of 2-0.
In the first half, the Lions were able to get an early lead when they scored the first goal of the game at the 7:48 mark. Both teams came out playing well on the defensive side, but the Lions were able to control the pace of the first half. The Lions early goal was enough to give them the 1-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Tigers were able to start out playing aggressive defense. However, later in the half the Lions were able to get on the board for their second goal of the game at the 69-minute mark. The Tigers were unable to get the offense rolling and the Lions were able to control the rest of the second half taking them to a 2-0 win.
The Tigers will have a chance to get back on track in their first home game of the season against Frostburg State University at The Bridge Sports Complex on Saturday, September 14
th at 4 PM.
