CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Salem University volleyball team wrapped up its weekend road trip on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets to the University of Charleston, 25–14, 25–21, 25–17.
The Tigers (9-11) battled to stay within striking distance in the second and third sets but couldn't overcome the Golden Eagles' balanced attack. Marika Righi and Valentina Poti each tallied seven kills, while Mykenzie Clyncke added five and Alexandra Vigneron chipped in four.
Setter Katie Kennedy guided the offense with 21 assists and led the team with four service aces, while Ana Julia Avila Vian anchored the defense with three digs.
Righi contributed a team-high eight points, combining efficient attacking with strong play at the net, while Kennedy and Poti each added four points.
The Tigers return home for the next game on their slate as they are set to take on the West Liberty Hilltoppers on Tuesday, October 28th at 7 PM.
