BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Salem University women's soccer team wrapped up its home schedule on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 9–0 decision to West Liberty at The Bridge Sports Complex.
The Hilltoppers struck early with two goals in the opening 12 minutes and carried a 5–0 advantage into halftime. Maya Taggart led the visitors with a hat trick, while four other West Liberty players added goals in the contest.
Goalkeeper Chloe Owens made seven saves in the first half for the Tigers, while Janiya Brooks-Crews entered for the second and collected three more stops. Despite the lopsided score, Salem continued to compete through the full 90 minutes, with Niah Hidalgo, Sara Del Bosque Duque, and Valentina Valle each logging full-match efforts in the midfield.
The Tigers are back in action on the road this week. The next contest for the Tigers is against the Fairmont State Falcons on Wednesday, October 29th.
