SALEM, W.Va. — The Salem University volleyball team delivered a strong performance on Halloween night, earning a straight-sets victory over Davis & Elkins, 25–13, 25–16, 25–23, on Friday inside T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
The Tigers (11-12) put together one of their most efficient offensive outings of the season, hitting .226 as a team while limiting the Senators to just a .029 mark.
Alexandra Vigneron led the attack with 10 kills on a .350 hitting percentage, while Marika Righi and Noemi Combi each added seven. Mykenzie Clyncke posted six kills and a pair of blocks in a balanced team effort.
Setter Katie Kennedy directed the offense with 30 assists and added six service aces to go along with four digs. Ana Julia Avila Vian anchored the back row with 11 digs, while Combi chipped in eight and one service ace.
At the net, Righi and Vigneron combined for five blocks as the Tigers controlled the tempo in all three sets. Salem recorded 36 kills to 27 for the visitors and never trailed by more than two points in the match.
The Tigers will hit the court again next week as they are set to head to Frostburg State on November 7th at 7 PM.
