Tigers Fall to Wheeling in Home Finale

SALEM, W.Va. — The Salem University volleyball team wrapped up its home schedule on Tuesday evening, dropping a straight-sets decision to Wheeling (25–17, 25–22, 25–12) inside T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.

The Tigers (11–15) stayed competitive throughout the first two sets, trading points early behind a balanced attack led by Noemi Combi, who finished with a team-high 12 kills on a .219 hitting percentage. Mykenzie Clyncke added six kills and a pair of service aces while hitting an efficient .462, and Marika Righi and Alexandra Vigneron each contributed four and five kills, respectively.

Setter Katie Kennedy directed the offense with 25 assists and added two service aces and 11 digs. Ana Julia Avila Vian led the defensive effort with seven digs and one ace, while Righi posted a pair of solo blocks at the net.

Salem hit .085 as a team, totaling 30 kills and 45 digs, while Wheeling countered with a .234 team percentage and nine service aces.

Salem will conclude the regular season on Friday, November 14th at 7 PM when the head up to the Steel City for a rematch with the Point Park Pioneers, who the Tigers defeated at home back on October 14th.
