Salem Drops Home Tilt with Glenville State

SALEM, W.Va. — Salem University men's basketball battled throughout the night but came up short against Glenville State, falling 104–72 on Tuesday evening at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.

The Pioneers opened the game with an aggressive offensive push and built a 52–31 halftime lead, capitalizing on efficient perimeter shooting and transition opportunities. Salem responded with improved offensive rhythm in the second half, scoring 41 points after the break, but was unable to close the gap.

Eman Lawal led the Tigers with a strong performance, finishing with 27 points and 12 rebounds, recording a double-double while also adding two steals and two blocks. Jamari Gamble followed with 20 points, knocking down four three-pointers and going 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Zahki Fallen chipped in eight points, while Xavier Price and Justin Fisher each added six points. Off the bench, Carl Toomer contributed five points, including a three-pointer in the second half.

Salem finished the night shooting 33.9 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from three-point range, while converting 23 of 29 free throws. The Tigers held an advantage at the foul line and scored 10 second-chance points, continuing to compete on the glass.

Glenville State shot 47.4 percent overall and connected on 19 three-pointers, using balanced scoring and bench production to maintain control throughout the contest.

Next up, the Tigers take a hiatus for the holiday break and return January 3rd on the road against Concord.
