Tigers Fall on the Road at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. – Salem University women's soccer dropped a tough road match Saturday afternoon, falling 11-0 to Frostburg State at Bobcat Stadium.

The Bobcats set the tone early, scoring three goals in the opening half before pulling away in the second with eight more. Frostburg was led by Reese Rizzo with a hat trick and assist, while Emma Hostetler added two goals and an assist.

Despite the scoreline, the Tigers showed resilience in goal. Chloe Owens made seven first-half saves, keeping Salem engaged against a relentless Frostburg attack that fired 38 total shots. In the second half, Janiya Brooks-Crews came on in relief and tallied seven more saves across 30 minutes of action.

Defensively, Ashley Gonzalez and Nevaeh Guzman anchored Salem's back line, while Audriana Medina worked to spark the attack up front. Salem did manage a corner kick opportunity late in the first half but was unable to convert.

Next up, the Tigers are set to host Point Park on September 17th for a 12:30 PM matchup on the home turf of The Bridge Sports Complex.
