SALEM, W.Va. – The Salem University women's basketball team faced a tough challenge on Wednesday evening, falling to West Liberty University 87-46 at the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
Despite a spirited effort in front of the home crowd, the Tigers struggled to find their offensive rhythm against a potent Hilltoppers squad. West Liberty jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and maintained control throughout the contest, utilizing a strong presence in the paint and efficient transition play.

Inside the Numbers Salem found success when attacking the rim, recording 30 of their 46 points in the paint. The Tigers' bench also remained active throughout the night, contributing 18 points. Defensively, Salem locked in on the boards to collect 27 defensive rebounds, limiting second-chance opportunities where possible. However, West Liberty's balanced attack proved difficult to contain, as the visitors shot effectively from the perimeter and capitalized on turnovers.
